Biography
Frank J. Wallace, 85, 60 year area resident, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Nyack Hospital. Son of the late William J. Wallace and Margaret N. Bucettas Wallace, he was born on October 10, 1924 in Brooklyn. He was the widower of Lila R. Goldman Wallace.
Frank was a retired NY State Corrections Officer at Helen Hayes Hospital in West Haverstraw and was the owner of ACE Fire Equipment in Fort Montgomery. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during World War II, member of V.F.W. Post 8858 in Harriman, Life Member of the Town of Highlands Volunteer Ambulance Corps, parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Highland Falls, Life Member and Past Chief of the Fort Montgomery Fire Dept., Past Fire Commissioner of the Fort Montgomery Fire District, member of Haverstraw Elks Lodge, member of Orange County Peace Officers Association and a member of 82nd Airborne Association.
He is survived by his son, Edward R. Wallace and his wife Joanne of Middletown, sister, Alice Marie Stafford of Pennsylvania, grandchildren Kyle Wallace, Meghan Cherubini and husband, Michael, James Biondo and wife Ami, Joseph Biondo, great granddaughter, Gianna Cherubini, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 23 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main Street, Highland Falls, NY. Firematic services will be held at 8:00 pm Wednesday evening in the funeral home. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 24 at Blessed Sacrament Chapel in Fort Montgomery with Rev. Jack Arlotta officiating. Interment will follow in Eagle Valley Cemetery in the Town of Highlands.
