Biography
Mamie J. Wallen, an 18 year resident of Highland Falls, NY, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Northern Riverview Health Care Center, Haverstraw, NY. Daughter of the late Albert and Ella King Behm, Mamie was born July 7, 1914 in Philadelphia, PA. Mamie was the widow of Furman Newton Wallen.
Survivors include her son Rev. Reynold E. Wallen of Highland Falls, NY, 12 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild, nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Mamie was predeceased by her son Newton R. Wallen, daughter Edna Mae Newmiller, brother Edward Behm, sister Edna Mae Bennett, a granddaughter and great grandson.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main Street, Highland Falls, NY and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, August 30, 2010 at Highway Tabernacle Church, 18th and Spring Garden Avenue, Philadelphia, PA. A funeral service will be held at the church at 11:00 AM officiated by Rev. Jack Mason and Rev. Otto Wegner. Interment will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Millville, NJ.
