Biography
Shirley A. Dean, lifelong area resident, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh at the age of 83. Daughter of the late Edmund V. Lewis, Sr. and Anne Treacy Lewis, she was born in Highland Falls on February 18, 1928. Shirley was the widow of Richard C. Dean, Sr.
Shirley was a retired Loan Officer for Marine Midland Bank in Highland Falls. She is survived by her sons, Richard C. Dean, Jr. and James M. Dean of Highland Falls, Chris Dean and his wife Janet of Fort Montgomery, daughter, Jan Lucas and her husband Gary of Hilliard, OH, sisters, Edna Eynon of Jamestown, PA, Barbara Woodard and Berenece Kelly of Highland Falls, 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Edmund V. Lewis, Jr. and sisters Rosalie Pond and Patricia "Patsy" Pastin.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 pm on Friday, December 2, 2011 at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main Street, Highland Falls. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Eagle Valley Cemetery in Highland Falls with Rev. Jack Arlotta officiating, followed by the interment.
