Biography
Yvonne "Babe" O'Dell passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. Daughter of the late Walter and Clara Braun Kleman, she was born June 17, 1934 in Menasha, WI. Yvonne was a homemaker but worked during her life for Little Britain Elementary School, New Windsor, NY, at Mid-City Transit Bus Company, Middletown, NY and with the Middletown Police Dept. as a school crossing guard.
Yvonne "Babe" was always kidded about how short she was, but had no shortage of love to give to her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, dear friends (Damken & Kennedy Families) and all the friends she met along the way, especially those in Highland Falls, NY. She enjoyed family gatherings, cruising and casino trips, and watching her favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers.
Survivors include her loving husband of 56 years, Ernest C. O'Dell of Middletown, NY, her three children: Brian O'Dell and his companion Patty Grundmann of New Windsor, NY, Colleen Solan and her husband Bill of Highland Falls, NY, SSG Ernest C. O'Dell, Jr. and his wife Eileen of Copperas Cove, TX; her former daughter-in-law Kathy O'Dell of Middletown, NY; her brothers Walter Kleman and his wife Ann, Glen Kleman and his wife Audrey, Roger Kleman and his wife Barbara all of Wisconsin; her grandchildren: Sean O'Dell and his fiancee' Veronica Vera, Kimberly Pintka and her husband John, Adam Solan and his wife Tanya, Zachary O'Dell, Robyn O'Dell; great grandchildren (known as Oma): Johnny Pintka, Christian Pintka and Connor O'Dell, several nieces, nephews, and great nieces & nephews. Yvonne was predeceased by her grandson Patrick O'Dell.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 PM on Sunday, December 4 at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main Street, Highland Falls. A funeral service will begin at 4:00 PM in the funeral home Sunday with Pastor Peter Rustico officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, December 5 in Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
