Biography
Jelisaveta Hunter passed away at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Cornwall, NY on Saturday, August 4, 2012. Jelisaveta was 88 years old. Daughter of the late Peter and Elena Yesenosky Stegun, she was born November 30, 1923 in Seredne, Ukraine. Jelisaveta was a retired cook at Park Restaurant, Highland Falls, NY.
Survivors include her son Miron Kvocka and his wife Olga of Haverstraw, NY; her daughter Helen Sunakawa and her husband Keishi of Ft. Montgomery, NY; her 2 sisters: Anna Pozo of Raleigh, NC, Mary Kvocka of Jamesport, NY; and her 3 grandchildren: Kay, Natalie & Ellie Sunakawa.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 7-9 PM today, August 7 at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main Street, Highland Falls, NY. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 8 in the funeral home with Rev. Jack Arlotta officiating. Interment will follow in Eagle Valley Cemetery, Town of Highlands, NY.
