Dorothy Ann Maher of Highland Falls, New York passed away at home on Monday, March 6, 2017. The daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Drew, she was born in Cornwall, New York on Dec 20, 1934. She was 82 years old.

Dorothy retired in 1995 from 25 years of service with the Department of Military Psychology and Leadership at the United States Military Academy. She stayed home with her 5 beautiful boys until they were school aged. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Innocents in Highland Falls, New York.

Dorothy was proud of her 25 years of dedication to "The Point" as she referred to West Point. She supported the cadets as she supported her sons. Her family has been affiliated with the United States Military Academy and the "Long Gray Line" for 150 years.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband Hugh O. Maher. They were married for 63 years. They were high school sweethearts. Also surviving are her five sons Charles (Champ) from Stony Point NY, Hugh, Boca Raton FL, Bryan, York, PA, Jeffrey, Los Angeles, CA, and Robert, West Palm Beach, FL, 12 grandchildren, and her brother Donald Drew.

She is predeceased by her brothers Burt Drew, Richard Drew, Robert Drew and sister Linda Drew Sedgwick. Brothers Burt, Richard, Robert and Donald all served in the military and in Korea and World War II.

Above all else, she was a loving wife and partner to Hugh her husband and was a dedicated and proud mother of 5 boys. She attended all her sons' games events and award ceremonies. She was most proud that her boys attended and graduated from college: Duke University, Northwestern University, Purdue University, and Miami University; all on scholarship with her loving support and guidance.

Memorial services will be held at the Church of the Holy Innocents, 401 Main Street, Highland Falls, New York Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Church of the Holy Innocents PO Box 116 Highland Falls New York 10928.
