LTC Pedro R. Espinoza, II (Ret)

LTC Pedro R. Espinoza II, (Ret), "Ponce" passed away April 3, 2018 at his home in Highland Falls, NY. A native of Simi Valley, CA, Ponce earned his commission in the Army from the United States Military Academy graduating in 1993. While at West Point, Ponce earned his bachelor's degree in Political Science and played on the Army soccer team. Ponce spent twenty years on active duty as a Signal Corps officer serving in assignments in the United States, Europe and Asia. Retiring in 2013 as a Lieutenant Colonel, he worked in the Information Technology sector in Colorado before returning to Highland Falls in 2017.

Ponce's life was spent loving his family, coaching and engaging in the lives of his amazing children, and showing them the world first-hand.

Ponce is survived by his wife, Kim Donnery Espinoza; and their four children: Isabella, Gabriella, James and Sophia. He is also survived by his mother, Theresa Espinoza of Simi Valley, CA; his brother and sister-in-law, James and Luv Espinoza; and his sister and brother-in-law, Monica and Hogan Wagner. He is predeceased by his father, Peter Espinoza. Ponce is additionally survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Roxanne Donnery of Highland Falls, NY.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 12th at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main Street, Highland Falls, NY. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, April 13th, leading to a 10 a.m. Church Service at Old Cadet Chapel at West Point followed immediately by a burial with military honors in West Point Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests all donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation in Ponce's name.
