My deepest sympathy goes out to the O'Dell family. Stump was a great friend to so many. He was kind and generous and always made me smile. You are all in my prayers. May you feel the presence of God comforting you during this very sad time.
Sincerely,
Melanie Leeds

I met him (once) in Monroe. I'm reading the obituaries daily since my own mother died on 1/5/21. I was sorry to see this obit today. I think God puts ppl in our lives for a reason (or a season) and I wanted to share that your beloved son & brother made me smile the day we met. My sister was a 4H Leader and horses have been a part of our lives forever.
I wish you peace during his passing. I believe in God (I hope you do, too) and I know when he stepped from this life - he stepped into everlasting life. What a 'Grand Reunion' we'll have in Heaven.
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall find comfort" Matthew (5:4)
Be at peace, much love in Christ, shelly starkey
p.s. A friend shared this at my mom's funeral. It's called, "The Train" (author unknown)
At birth we boarded the train and we met our parents, and we believe they will always travel by our side. However, at some station our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone.
As time goes by, other people will board the train; and they will be significant in our lives, i.e. our siblings, friends, children and even the love of your life. Many will step down and leave a permanent vacuum. Others will go so unnoticed that we don't realize they vacated their seats. This train ride will be full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hellos, goodbyes, and farewells. Success consists of having a good relationship with all passengers on our life’s train and that requires that we offer up the very best of ourselves.
The mystery for everyone is this: None of us knows at which station we ourselves will step down. So, we must live in the best way we can, love, forgive and offer the best of who we are. It is important to do this because when the time comes for us to step down and leave an empty seat, we should leave behind a host of beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train. The train called life. The best we can do is to try and make it a joyful journey for everyone.
